With the upcoming roll-out of the Australian Curriculum, and as Australia’s population becomes increasingly multi-cultural, there is a corresponding need for the community to have exposure to relevant, enlightening cultural education.  Relevant cultural education includes education on Australia’s indigenous culture, that of our neighbouring cultures (those throughout Oceania and South East Asia) and that of the majority of the people of other ‘high-profile’ cultures immigrating to Australia.  Enlightening cultural education provides participants with information which facilitates an understanding and nurtures an appreciation of those cultures. There has always been a gaping hole in the provision of such services in Australia.  Second Nature Asia Pacific has identified this gap, and as of 2012, is offering education institutions, museums, art galleries and other organisations a range of professional, engaging cultural education experiences. Second Nature Asia Pacific staff have a combination of decades of experience in cultural education throughout many countries across six continents.  We have been offering quality environmental and basic cultural education services since the beginning of 2010, and are very pleased to have the capacity to expand our variety of much-needed cultural education services in 2012. We provide four distinct cultural education services. Please click on each service for more information.

Child Care Centre & Pre-school Programs

Services available: Selected On-Site Presentations only.  See below for details. During our specially-designed Culture on the Go! – Masksand Culture on the Go! – Aboriginal’ programs, we will come and visit your classroom with an amazing variety of museum-quality Performance Masks and Aboriginal artefacts aged between 50 and 300 years old, from all over Asia-Pacific and central and northern Australia.  Using the construction material, design and expressions on the masks, our facilitators engage children on a journey of expression through different cultures – and they even get to make their very own take-home mask at the end of the presentation!  Using the Aboriginal artefacts and Dreamtime stories, children learn of the daily life of Aboriginal people living in harsh environments.  They also learn about the different work of men and women, and get to create their own piece of Aboriginal art!  For more information on the two programs available, please click on the highlighted links above.
